President Bush's proposal to increase American troop's level to quell the insurgency and end sectarian killings is as reckless and dangerous as his "stay the course" strategy. America's choice in Iraq must not be limited to escalation as the President contends or immediate withdrawal as many Democrats advocate. Either of these choices will lead to a disaster of untold proportion. There is no military solution. The only and most practical solution will be found in the creation of a Sunni entity (along with the Kurdish and Shiites') with economic and military means to make it independently viable.
