More than once, I have been accused of being overly optimistic – a dreamer – in a time of raging madness in the Middle East. My answer is: “There is enough pessimism, pain, and disdain, and I do not choose to add my voice to the chorus of doom.”
From the days of my early education, peace between the Arab states and Israel has been my passion. The wars, destructions and violence that have afflicted the region over such a long period of time have not altered my conviction that some day the people of the Middle East will live together in peace and harmony.
I envision a Middle East with Arabs and Jews working and living together to achieve greatness perhaps unknown in human experience. Together, they will usher in a renaissance that will spread its light from sea to sea.
